About us

The "Showplace for Saddlebreds" is located on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. The only breed museum at the park, the American Saddlebred Museum houses the largest collection of Saddlebred artifacts in the world.

The Museum features special exhibits that change yearly as well as a permanent exhibit and award winning theater show. Interactive exhibits include several touch screens, a trivia game, and a ride able rocking horse exhibit.

In this exciting destination visitors learn the important role the Saddlebred horse played in our nation's history and how he has evolved into the beautiful and versatile breed known today.

  • Memorial Day to Labor Day 9am-6pm.
  • September to May 9am-5pm.
  • Closed on Monday and Tuesday November to mid-March.

Directions

  • Lexington Take I-75 North to exit 120 (Ironworks Road). Follow signs for the Kentucky Horse Park, Museum is located on the grounds of the park.
